Okay, we've all been there. We have freshly washed and folded towels and no room in the linen closet, so we cram them in hoping that they won't fall on your next time you open it.
Organization isn't for everyone however I want to give you a few tips on how to keep your linen closet nice and organized and free from boobytraps.
You will only need two things for this project: Baskets/boxes and your time.
(Please note: I am a HomeSense addict - They have EVERYTHING and it is a great place to get baskets or boxes in a number of different sizes and colours!)
Step 1: Take all the towels and linens out
Step 2: Sort and fold all the towels and linens into sizes (all bath towels together, face towels, hand towels, sheets, pillowcases etc)
Step 3: Fold any towels or linens that currently are not folded
Step 4: Start putting your linens and towels into baskets - Purchase different sized baskets so you can add different baskets on different shelves to give your closet more dimension. I rolled my face towels and put pillowcases in my baskets.
Step 5: If you would like, colour co-ordinate your linens so that colours are grouped together or alternate with one another to create a pattern
Step 6: Place the hand towels, face towels and smaller items in the linen closet. The larger items such as the bath towels and sheets, you will want folded nicely on a shelf.
Step 7: Any items that are not used on the regular should go on top shelf. I used as larger box and its lid to hide any of my mis-matched linens and towels.
Step 8: Put all your nicely folded towels and baskets into your closet and you are FINISHED! Congratulations! Now you have an amazing, colour coordinated and organized linen closet! The task now is to keep it that way!
Here is my final product
Until next time,
